7 Points To Teach About The Plan Of Salvation

1) WHO IS GOD?

 Attributes of God (eternal, self-existent, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, holy, loving, fair, Spirit, righteous).
 God is so awesome and great that we can never understand everything about Him because we are not God.
 What is the Trinity? God has three different parts (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

2) GOD’S WORLD WAS PERFECT UNTIL SIN.

 Who is satan?
 What is temptation?
 What is sin?
 God cannot accept sin
 We are all sinners in need of forgiveness

3) SIN REQUIRES THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD.

 Blood is important to life
 God’s rule says that blood had to be shed in order for sin to be forgiven.
 In the Old Testament God required sacrificing of animals for the forgiveness of sins.

4) JESUS IS THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

 God only accepts the blood of His son, Jesus, as the solution for sin.
 Jesus took on our sin. He was punished instead of us.
 The animal sacrifices of the Old Testament did not forgive sins but the people’s obedience to God did so that when Jesus died their sins were covered as well.
 Jesus chose to die because He loves God and He loves us.
 Jesus’ death on the cross is a gift for mankind.

5) HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND TO JESUS’ GIFT?

 We hear and understand God’s plan of salvation.
 We make a choice to believe or not.
 We confess that we are sinners in need of forgiveness.
 We have a Godly sorrow for our sins and then repent meaning we turn from those sins and start living to please God.

6) BE OBEDIENT TO BAPTISM.

 Learn about Jesus’ example of baptism.
 What does the Bible say about baptism?
 Baptism symbolizes the death of our sinful nature and the raising up of a new person in Christ.
 Who should get baptized?
 How do we get baptized? What is immersion?

7) WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’M BAPTIZED?

 This is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus.
 We receive the Holy Spirit to help us live for God.
 We need to grow closer to God through prayer, church attendance, worship, Scripture reading, acts of service and contributions.
 We ask for forgiveness when we sin again.
