WE BELIEVE THE FOLLOWING:
• There is only one God and He is the God of the Bible. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe.
• We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and a part of God along with the Holy Spirit thus making up the Trinity.
• We believe the Trinity is made up of God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. We accept that all are equal in deity yet have different functions.
• We accept that Jesus came to earth via a miracle conception being born of a virgin. We do not worship Mary, his mother in any way other than respect for her as a faithful woman of God who accepted the call to mother the Son of God.
• We believe that Jesus died on the cross to serve as the sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. We celebrate His resurrection from the dead and accept that He is currently serving with God in heaven. We await His return to earth when He will come to gather believers unto Himself to dwell with Him in eternity.
• We believe that all who call upon the name of the Lord and accept Him as their Lord and Savior will be saved and will live eternally with God in heaven.
• We teach that water baptism is by way of immersion. We follow the example of Jesus’ baptism where the Bible states that He “went down into the water” and “came up out of the water”. We also believe that the Greek word for baptism that is used in the New Testament means “immersion”.
• We believe that baptism is a part of the salvation process. However, God will judge each man’s heart individually and He will not use baptism to determine who enters into heaven and who will not. Ultimately God Himself will judge the hearts of men. We believe that the blood of Jesus is what saves a person, not the act of baptism.
• We do believe that the Bible teaches that we are to “repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”.
In Him,
